This full restoration project in Uckfield, East Sussex, brought a tired period property back to life inside and out. The client's brief called for a home that combined the warmth and character of a traditional Sussex house with a sophisticated, contemporary interior style - a result that required careful craftsmanship at every stage.
Internally, the work centred on creating a bright, personalised living space. We installed a log burner with custom shelving built either side, fitted a new kitchen with a curved feature wall to add visual interest and break up a previously blocky layout, and carried out full bathroom renovations throughout. Period details were respected and restored: the original floorboards were lifted, repaired where needed and carefully sanded back to life. A new staircase was installed to complement the building's existing character, and bespoke joinery including artisanal door handles and fitted shelving was added across the property.
Externally, the focus was on structural integrity and long-term performance. We repointed the brickwork in the correct lime mortar, reinforced and repointed the chimney, retiled the roof over the porch and bay window, and fitted new external doors. Every trade was handled by our team or trusted sub-contractors, with Dave on site throughout.
